When you think of helping a developing country, what do you think of – food, clothing, education? What about stoves? Greg Spencer of The Paradigm Project says yes! He and his team are using business skills to bring cleaner-burning, more efficient Rocket Stoves to Haiti, Guatemala and Kenya. Spencer, a Utah native, co-founded The Paradigm Project in 2009 after a trip to Uganda with Food for the Hungry. “It was on a misty mountaintop in eastern Uganda, receiving a chicken as a welcome present out of complete poverty from my sponsored child, when I knew I wanted my life to be about using my skills, both business and other, to impact the lives of the needy in the developing world,” said Spencer. So why stoves? Cooking over an open fire leads to respiratory damage, deforestation and even death. Imagine the harm it would do to your body if you exposed yourself to the smoke of 40 cigarettes a day just to cook your meals. Environmentally, daily cooking over an open fire contributes massively to pollution and land devastation that in turn contributes to the endless cycle of poverty.

Join host Angela Mason as she interviews Greg on November 9th. We guarantee you will be touched by these stories and inspired to help. RSVP to reserve your spot!
