In June, women from the Columbia-Willamette chapter in Portland, Oregon, met with Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) to encourage her to support the Water for the World Act.

WOV partner Anne Huiskes reports: “Our message was well received and she quickly agreed to become a cosponsor. Many of us had written and called over the last year, but the personal touch made a difference in securing her formal support. We had time to share with her the exciting work World Vision is doing to help bring clean water to people in need of it and why this issue is so important to us.” [Meeting participants – Louise Anderson, Ruth Nottingham, Judi Mittelstaedt, Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, Anne Huiskes, Mary Liggett, Karol Rykert]

Women of Vision is joining World Vision in its goal for the Girls Count Act and the Water for the World Act to pass before the end of the 113th Congress on January 3, 2015. Join us on September 9th to add your voice!
