Lora Williams, co-chair of the Women of Vision Austin chapter, shares why she sponsors a child through World Vision:As soon as I understood the impact of God’s vision implemented through World Vision, I wanted to sponsor a child. I know that impacting a life can impact a generation which can change the world as we know it today. I’ve worked with at risk youth who grew up in poverty as I did here in the U.S. and I have seen the effects of poverty in my community. This burdens my heart and causes me to need to do something about it. What hurts me most is the loss of dreams when I’ve seen hopelessness in the eyes of those who can’t dream because of lack… simply because their basic needs are not met. So I’ve resolved for myself, to do whatever I need to do to restore hope. That’s why I chose to sponsor children through World Vision. I’m able to restore hope in a child, a family, and a community. I have been blessed to travel to Africa and see the fruit of sponsorship. All I can say is seeing hope restored in the eyes of those we benefit is a reward in itself.
