Creative Christmas Gifts: Channels of Hope for Gender

Channel of Hope

We’re Sharing Big Dreams This Christmas!

Channels of Hope for Gender: The Channels of Hope methodology is one of World Vision’s most effective programs. Through it, World Vision partners with local churches and faith-based organizations to change deeply held cultural beliefs. The Gender study focuses on gender roles. This Biblically-based program has been adapted to promote gender equality through understanding and applying Scripture responsibly to address underlying beliefs about the role and value of women.

Many pastors in the developing world have only a primary school education, and have had no opportunity for theological training. World Vision’s innovative efforts in Christian witness include programs that invite faith leaders from diverse communities to build relationships and address mutual concerns, establishing a more effective witness. Activities that teach Christian principles provide support for church leaders as they witness to and care for their communities, and help create positive, nurturing environments for children.

Women of Vision continues support World Vision’s Channels of Hope for Gender program. Between October 2013 and September 2016, World Vision seeks to train 4,464 facilitators in nine countries, through the Strong Women, Strong World fund. If you’re looking for a Christmas gift idea, consider giving to this effort:
