Artwork inspired by Strong Women, Strong World

Photo: © Carolyn Dalrymple

When WOV Charlotte partner DeeDee Dalrymple saw the Strong Women, Strong World brochure, she immediately remembered a piece of artwork her daughter Carolyn did last year. Carolyn, currently at UNC Chapel Hill, has volunteered at Camp Appalachia for the last three summers. Says DeeDee: “I absolutely love the strong woman portrayed and her connection to the land.” This beautiful image is a multimedia drawing done with oil, charcoal, pen, and pencil and a few magazine clippings which comprise the necklace.

We invite all WOV partners to submit artwork, poetry and other expressions to celebrate Strong Women, Strong World. Please send your submissions to Together, let’s honor strong women around the world!
